Leona Belden, MD joined Total Nutrition Technology, Inc. in 2008 as a pediatric consultant. Dr. Belden received her medical degree from UTHSC Medical School in Houston, TX. She graduated at the top of her class and was awarded membership in the AOA Medical Honor Society. Dr. Belden completed her pediatric internship and residency program at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC in 2000. Since then, she has practiced as a general pediatrician, an urgent care pediatrician, and a neonatal and pediatric hospitalist.
Currently, she is a practicing general pediatrician whose main focus is on disease prevention by cultivating healthy lifestyle habits. She also is involved in the Kids Eating Smart and Moving More pediatric obesity intervention study piloted by UNC and funded by the National Institute for Child Health and Human Development. Leona's most cherished role as a new mom has given her a genuine appreciation for the challenges and the importance of leading a balanced and healthy life.
